Sri Brahmanandam is the son of Sri Ramanathan hailing from a village near Mayiladuthurai, in Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. He had been in a career of Marketing in one of the reputed companies of the Simpson Group, Chennai. He has since retired. His village is the birth place of one of the sixty three Nayanmars in all Siva Temples in Tamil Nadu State. He is the 37th in the Galaxy. His name is Manakanjarar. Arar means the Chieftain of six territories under the Chola King 1200 years ago. Manakanjar is Manam + Anjar, in Tamil a name by which he was addresses by Lord Shiva who tested him for his devotion meaning fearless to self esteem in the service of Shiva's devotees. Brahmanandam's village was the capital of this chieftain and so was called Manakanjarar Nagaram. Recently Brahmanandam had the privilege of renovating the Shiva temple worshipped by this Nayanar. Since Manickavachagar is the leading Nalvar among the sixty three Tamil saints, Brahmanandam made a study of Manikavachagars Chapter in the Periapuranam which led him to the in depth study of Thiruvachagam of Manickavachagar.. Today he has come forward to share his knowledge with the listeners of the holy life story of this greatest Tamil Saint, his philosophy and his contribution to Saiva Sidhantham.
